1) Tell me about what inspires you to to kick ass every day. What goals and ambitions get you out of bed and keeps you moving forward even on the hardest of days? How do you shake the bad days and moments?

I think Woody Allen said it best. “Eighty percent of success is showing up” One of the biggest and simplest things you can do to ensure more success in your life – whether it is in your social life, your career or with your health – is simply to show up more. The weather might be bad, you might not feel like going and you find yourself having all these other things you just must do. I think this applies to most areas of life. If you write or work out more, every day perhaps, you will improve quickly. If you get out more you can meet more new friends. In a way success is quite a bit about numbers. The really successful people have often tried and failed a lot more than the average person.

2) With the rising trend in Slow Fashion and the benefits to buying well-made, high quality products, have you noticed yourself becoming more aware of the design and production of the clothes you buy?

It’s definitely about going after the latest trends. Slow fashion is about realizing that fewer is better. So, slow fashion is the deliberate choice to buy better-quality items less often. When I make purchases, I want to know they’re environmentally and ethically made rather than trend-driven. That the garments are durable and lend themselves to repairs, not disposal. Slow fashion is also transparent: As a Buyer I want know where my clothes are coming from, and that items are handmade by artisans.

3) What advice do you have for women pursuing a career in your industry? What roadblocks did you have to smash through to get where you are today?

I think its important to get ideas from your audience, I think this can be a great way to gather ideas of what topics people would most like to read about, which will help your blog grow. The biggest road block I’ve had is generating ideas that will capture my audience.
