Austin, Texas is a place that we love to call home. And by no surprise, so do hundreds of thousands of other Austinites. The city is both lively and quaint, and offers more than enough ways to stay busy if you find yourself with a little free time on your hands.

Here we have compiled a list of 25 things to do in our favorite city

If you aren't already in love, we promise checking activities off of this list will have you head over heels (no shoe pun intended).

1. Stop by Fortress of Inca at 503 W. Mary Street, then explore our neck of the woods

2. A smoothie from the Soup Peddler is mandatory 

3. Grab a friend and head to Town Lake to rent a paddle board or kayak

4. Rent a city bike a cruise down around downtown

5. Head to South Congress for vintage shopping and happy hours

6. See a movie at the Paramount Theatre

7. Watch the sunset as the bats take flight

8. Take a rooftop yoga class at Wanderlust Yoga

9. Hike up to the 360 Overlook at sunrise or sunset

10. Treat yourself to a frozen banana from Bananarchy!

11. Hit downtown in your new Ani's for happy hour and a night out with friends

12. Head to Book people to beat the heat and treat yourself to a new book and an iced coffee

13. Love to surf but can't make it to the beach? City Surf is new to Austin! Book a board here

14. Sunday brunch and beers at Bangers on Rainey Street! They'll even tattoo their signature boot for free ;)

15. Stop by the Blanton Art Museum at the UT campus to check out their latest exhibits

16. Have dinner on the lake at Abel's, The Oasis, or Mozart's

17. People watch and cool off in Barton Springs

18. Explore the Greenbelt for a full day of fun

19. Take a UT Tower tour of the infamous campus monument

20. Move a late night date to one of the 24 hour coffee shops. We recommend Epoch and Bennu

23. Spider House has entertainment every night, from bands to slam poetry
